FIVE REASONS TO EAT WHOLE GRAINS

These grains favor reducing the risk of heart disease, maintain body weight and prevent type 2 diabetes also are a source of minerals, fiber, micronutrients, complex carbohydrates among other health attributes.

So, here I share five reasons to eat whole grains and how they help us to have a healthy life:

  1. WHOLE GRAINS ARE AN EXCELLENT SOURCE OF FIBER.

Most of us consume little fiber, soluble and insoluble. However, the fiber has great health benefits. And in this sense, whole grains are an excellent source. Even diets that tend to reduce fiber intake can cause a deficiency that may contribute to the risk of constipation, diverticulosis or diabetes.

  1. WHOLE GRAINS PROVIDE A VARIETY OF VALUABLE MICRONUTRIENTS.

Grains are a diverse group of food with a broad nutritional profile. Generally they provide a rich variety of B vitamins and a variety of minerals. Many contain antioxidant compounds and some offer new antioxidants that are not found in other foods we eat.

The beans are also an important source of protein. Some contribute more than others, but in general, amino acids that provide are complementary to those of other plant foods, such as beans and legumes.Rice and beans, for example, are a traditional dish in various cultures, and perhaps not coincidentally, provide a full range of essential amino acids that serve as an alternative to meat.

  1. GRAINS CAN IMPROVE GLYCEMIC EFFECTS OF OTHER FOODS.

There is research showing that both low and high carbohydrate diets can result in a comparatively low glycemic load. The same research suggests diets high in carbohydrates low glycemic index (meaning plant foods) have positive effects to reduce the risk of chronic diseases. Other research shows that a high intake of fiber cereal grains in a meal can reduce the glycemic responses of the foods ingested later.

  1. THE HEALTHIEST PEOPLE EAT WHOLE GRAINS.

As noted, the grains are an ingredient of long tradition in all diets “Blue Zone”. They are prominent in variations like the Mediterranean diet, Asian diets and vegetarian diets place.

  1. WHOLE GRAINS ARE A COMPONENT OF THE VERSATILE DIET.

The diversity of grains available for us means a range of options to add to our meals nutritional benefits. For a cook expand options for improving dishes and meals by adding flavors and healthy nutrients.
