Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 premiered in thirty-seven international markets this weekend and has already raised $ 101.2 million. In comparison, the film was released 57% better than its predecessor and 50% more than the international opening of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (through Deadline ).
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 managed to reach the estimated mark weeks ago, but failed to expand by much margin. The Marvel film will debut in the United States and China next week, and will undoubtedly raise a few million more.
It was a good idea to coincide with its domestic launch with the launch of China, as it is one of the largest international markets and will surely strengthen the film’s revenue in a few weeks.
Last weekend, the film peaked in the UK with $ 15.5 million. In Australia, the film earned $ 11.6 million, followed by Germany, France and Mexico with 8.3, 7.9 and 7.6 million dollars, respectively. This turns the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 into the second Disney movie to have a grand opening in 2017, behind Beauty and the Beast of course.
