There was a time when Citroen was different, as the GS and ads
At a time in which, unless otherwise stated and exclusive models, cars increasingly look more like each other, it is not bad to look back and remember that does not many years had brands like Citroen betting very, very strong for being different.
Different technology and, of course, design. The French brand with a highly stylized risked and aerodynamic body while its competitors were far more cuadradotes . Inside more innovation, for better or for worse, with boxes peculiar instruments, steering wheels of a single arm or pineapples curious and sometimes complicated control behind the wheel.
The mark of the two chevrons also believed strongly in the opposite cylinder boxer and his low center of gravity engines. The GS, direct competitor to cars like the Renault 12 , the SEAT 124 or SIMCA 1200, had this type of propellant and also with the famous hydro pneumatic suspension system able to do things like those shown in this listing:
It also allowed to raise the height of the vehicle to face complicated steps, although in this another ad (in this case GSA) we sell a somewhat misleading way.
This suspension was self-leveling, another of the great advantages of this now defunct system.
And, of course, allowed to enjoy an impressive march comfort, both stating that seemed you were on a flying carpet and with this announcement expression taken too seriously.
